Miguel Acosta

Miguel was appointed chief of the DMV’s Autonomous Vehicles Branch in 2018. He has over 25 years of experience in the public sector, with over a decade in executive leadership. His previous executive assignments at the DMV include branch chief over the department’s Special Interest License Plate Program, International Registration Plan and Motor Carrier Permit programs; assistant deputy director of field operations; and chief of the Justice and Government Liaison Branch. Miguel earned a BA in political science from the University of California, Davis, as well as an MA in public policy/administration.
